It's none of your business!

I've been married two years and trying to conceive for about as long. "Well meaning" people constantly ask when we'll have a baby. I'm tired of making excuses- - Here it is folks... All the details you could ever want, and more. Aren't you glad you asked?

Hurry up and wait....

I had a fabulous interview on Tuesday, but I always seem to walk away saying that- only to later find out I didn't get the position. This position in particular is working for Eckerd Family Services in Rutland. I would be working with Department of Children and Families (DCF) with adoptive and foster families. After working with homeless, drug addicted, and abused teen moms at a small non-profit, I feel prepared to work with this population of families.
So, now I wait. Wait for the phone call that asks when I can start.... or a letter with an apology, so sincere but so full of bull-shit.... Or, my personal favorite- Nothing. Nothing at all. No e-mail, no letter- just left hanging. Well, didn't want that kind of job anyway, right? (Ugh. Yes Heather, tell yourself that.)
I know I made the right decision when I left my previous position, and I am positive that I was not meant to work at a Personal Assistant/House Manager/Nanny/ Fix-the-toilet kinda job. Here I am now, home on my couch, in my PJ's with my laptop. Waiting.
I have applied to many other positions, but thats where the frustration begins. First, you get the automated e-mail from some unknown address that 'thanks you for your interest. If you are qualified, someone will contact you'. Everyone wants a letter of reference- Well, listen folks- when I asked for a letter of reference from a co-worker, or other professional aquiantance, I didn't ask for 16 copies. I'm lucky if I get two. There has to be a better system- I hate asking for the letters from people! Or giving their number for a reference- oh well. Gotta do it. How else are the bills going to get paid?
